.«. MELBOURNE, March 12. The report of the Administrator of Papua contains a record of a curious incident. A European named Weaver was murdered near Port Moresby. The raurderers were on good terms with Weaver. One of them had built ' a house, and wished to paint it in a certain manner, but native custom forbade it unless he had previously killed a man. He therefoie killed Weaver, and afterwards tried to charm back his life. The murderer was hanged and his accomplices imprisoned.
