Japan has an avenue of trees miles in length. The trees are the oryptoreesa, and everyone h & perfect specimen, quite straight, from 130 ft to 150 ft in height, and 12ft to 15ft in circumference. The avenue 1 extends from the town of Namanda to Nikko. A. picture by tie late W. E. Osborne, tn' English artist, has been presented to the' Wellington Art Gallery by the artlst'p widow, and id being forwarded by M* John Baillie, of the Baillie Art Gallery, London. The work is a characteristic L London sketch.
