CHRISTCHURCH, January 6.

The Lytt&lton Harbour Board giave a very delightful picnic at Diamond Harbour on Saturday afternoon in honour of the officers and crew of the Nimrod and the officers of the Gralilee. The tug Canterbury, which conveyed the guests from Lyttelton to Diamond Harbour, left the port at 2 o'clock with al ,large complement of passengers. On arrival at Diamond HaTbour the guest 3 quickly foxind cool resting places under the shady trees, and afternoon tea was served, while the Lyttelton Marine Band provided some good music. Just before the Canterbury left , on the return journey short speeches were j made by the Hon. C. C.
