ANTARCTICA POST OFFICE. '■ Mr Reid, the business manager of the expedition, has still a good deal of work to do in connection with the Nimrod. Most of the officers and scientists had a long list of final" commissions for him to execute, and last night he had to despatch a big budget of telegrams and cablegrams. Mr G. A. M. Buckley, of Ashburton, who went south with the Nimrod, did so at about an hour's notice. He will probably return with the Koonya, Mr Buckley is well known as a yachtsman, and he holds a master mariner's certificate. The mail for King Edward VII Land taken by the Koonya consisted of above 1500 letters. Probably 1300 of these are <fummy communications in order that they may be returned through the dead letter office and kept as mementos.
