A NEW SUN DAY SCHOOL.
ST. PAUL'S CHURCH, IXVERCARGILL. (Fhom Oxnt Own ConßjsßPdfa>BNT.) INVERCARGILL, December 13. The ceremony of laying the dedication stone of the new Sunday school for St. Paul's Presbyterian Church was performed by the Hon. Robert M'Nab this afternoon, in the presence of a good attendance oi church officers and the publio generally. Referring to the importance of Sunday school work, Mr M'Nab paid that although few people realised it, the fact that New Zealand was so easily governed was largely due to the religious instruction given in Sunday schools and churches, and he was entirely satined that if this teaching was suspended the cost of maintaining law and order would be doubled at least, and the work would not be nearly so effective as at present. Another stone commemorative of the event was laid by the minister of the church (the Rev. George Lindsay). The building is a fine, two-storeyed one, and will provide separate rooms, to enable the Sunday school work to be carried on in the most effective way possible. The total cost i» £1500. of which £800 has already been provided, and it is anticipated that the balance, or the greater part of it, will be realised by a sale of work now in course of prepsraiioa.
