ANDERSON 'S BAY PRESBY TERIAN CHURCH.
The congregation of the Anderaoa's Bay Presbyterian Chwch gathered in food force on November 27 for tfae sama! .social, to -cehsbnrte tl*e completion of «nothex year of tfr» chun&awork. The Her. A. Cameron presided. The Rev. G. FynesClinton wrote negrettutg his inability to be present, but h» ooqffregation was well represented. Tfce Chairman, in his opening remarks, referred feelingly, to, tfee .loss to the church during the year by the death of such ' old and esteemed members aa Messrs J. .Samuel, A. Mathieson, W. Stewart, and^Mrs D. Weir and Mrs Craw•ford. He trusted that many of the younger generatidn, -who were now carrying on the work, would *emain till 'they too were L patriarchs «uch»aß those who had been, -called away. Mr Camecoa .also referred with regret to his enforced retirement from work' during a' large part of the year, and his gratification that the work had been so vigorously and efficiently carried on in his .absence. ' He also laid stress on the importance of the Scripture classes held in the day school, which are very largely attended, and have the sympathetic support of the head master (Mr Jeffery). The Teport indicated quiet and steady work on the part of all the organisations connected ; with the church, and the revenue had Been well sustained,, notwithstanding the unusual circumstances already referred to. During the year Mr J. C. Loan, a member of the Management Committee, abo leader of the young, men's Bible claes and the Junior, Enjdearour Society, .volunteered for home missionary work, and was appointed 'to Rewa (in ' the North Island). Miss Rose M. Davey. M.A., a former ' 'member of the chtirch, left during the year to enter on the work of a missionary at ■> Madras, India. The Anderson's Bay Church has now four of its number curving the Master as ministers or missionaries' at home or abroad, whije two Others entered) upon similar work, but were soon called away .from earth. The. ladies of the P.W.M.U. again met with a good response to their appeal on behalf of minions, and the Ttfsnageinent 'Committee resolved to put the Sustcntation Fond in an aid-giving position. Mr H. K. Wilkinson, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet,' referred to the progress in all department* of the church work, notwithstanding Mr 'Cameron V absence, and to the improvement in the service of praise during the year. An excellent musical programme was submitted.
