The committee met on Thursday evening. Various matters in connection with the new building and features of the work were freely discussed, and, judging by the uitention of the board, Dunedin should ere long be possessed of a handsome modernly -equipped V.M.C.A. Building and one suitable for the carrying out of the whole work of the Young. Men's Christian Association. Some of the features contained in the new building are reception hall reading and writing room, games rooms, secretary's office, halls for meetings, classrooms, gymnasium, bowling alleys, swimming pool, plunge and shower baths lockers for members using gymnasium. Then there will be a goodly .number of bedrooms. This will provide a good equipment for the four departments of work — physical, educational, social and religious.

Mr Shaw, of Greenfield, had the misfortuna to be burned out on Friday last. Mr Shaw was working out on the farm and has no idea as to the origin of the fire. The house was insured in the Government Insurance Office for £30, but Mr Shaw estimates his loss at £70 above that amount.
