An Appeal. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — As Christmas approaches, wo feel thas wo cannot let this season pa c s without once again making some special appeal to th«» general pufc>2io. boeauee we know and havo proved that they have synipatliv with an.}' worthy cause, and in the pa«t there has been no reason to have this faith in their kindness of heart weakened, but rather strengthened, by the generou-> lesponse from every side to my appeals. A gift of 10-; from the country reminds us that there arc- other of our friend* who are willing to help at this limo of year. I suppose if anyone ought to know the needs of the people it i* myself, because I have been workin* in and around the eiry for over si\ years, and have alwa.\s been willing to help any needy case without regard to creed or colour. Therefore, it i» ouc desire once again to brighten some homes this Christmastime, and as we need the co-operation of those who are bk&sed with an abundance of this world's goocK. we desire to make it known that I shall be glad to receive any f?ifu of money, poo da, or clothing at '6 London street. — Sister Mahie.
