THREAT BY THE STEEL TRUST
i LONDON, December 9. I The newspaper The Ironmonger states ' that the United States Steel Trust has presented an ultimatum to the Welch tin. plate manufacturers that they must either buy 3000 American steel bars monthly or be smashed. The manufacturers Tefused to comply with the demand. The Daily Chronicle says that if there is any reality in the threat the Government should take action.
