CHRISTCHURCH, June 17. The following is. the result of the third egg-iaymg competition at Lincoln College under the autpi'es of the Utility Poultry Club for the week ending June 14: — The total number of eggs laid to date is 2776, tho total for the wool: bcMnjj 967. The following are the best aggregates for the week:— W. Forrest, black Orpingtons, 33; J. Jackman, silver Wyandolios 32; J. Large, white Leghorns, 30; A. W. V. Clarke, eiher Wyandotted, 20; A. Petrie, wlnte Leghorn*, 29; A. W. Broadway, silver Wyandottes, 29: W R. Tulbor, silver \V\apdott.o6, 29; W. JVrguvson, silver Wvandottos, 29. The best totals to date are.— J. Largo. 108; W. Forrost, 108; J. Jeckman, 107: H. Hawko, silver Wvandott"s, 107; W. Sta'kor, S6 ; M. Blanch, silver Wvandottes, 94; Silby, 92; T. Kennedy, 91. NELSON, June 17. Tho kelson Poultry Association has decided to hold an egg-laying competition next year, commencing on April 1. There will be 50 pone, and the competition will take place at Sunnyholm, Stoke. The competition is to be a test of early-hatched pullets, of using covered sheds, but no grass runs, and of the Hogan system of selecting layers and non-layers. The birds aro to be- purebred, and not more than 12 nor under six months' old. GREYMOUTH.
