How Woman Regards Woman.
It is absolutely untrue to say that woman is woman's wor&t eneny, unless there be some peisonal antagonism in the matter. Good women are generally staunch.' friends to each other, though circumstances often hamper them to such an extent that; they cannot follow the dictates of their hearts. And again, much of the harsh criticisms bestowed upon erring sisters by weakminded women — the truly good and greatf seldom venture to condemn — is uttered for, the purpose of retaining the respect of some male hearer who, it is supposed, willlf in consequence consider them incapabk of any weakness. At first glance this appears cowardly, but what is the cause of it? It lies in thef' fact that the immaculate lord of creation, though he does some very generous talking as long as the matter dpes not come to him, is intensely unforgiving when the parties are in any way connected with his name. Therefore the timid woman reasons thus : "If I appear to regard this lightly, he may think about the same thing."
