TUG-BOAT WRECKED.

AUCKLAND, February 8. The tus?-boat Awarua was totally wrecked near Whangarei Heads on Wednesday. The steamer had coaled at Whangarei, and went to Kauri Mount for a raft of logs. When making into shore, about half a mile off, she struck an uncharted rock. A heavy surge was on at the time, and tho rocks penetrated the bottom of the vessel, which was soon full of water. The tug-boat Pelican was dispatched by the Devonport Ferry Company (owners of the Awarua), and the vessel was stripped of everything of value. The crew are all safe. The company insure their own vessel*. The place where the^ Awarna struck is known as the Fanny Kellv reef, where some years ago a ketch of that name was lost with all hands, including a number of women and children.
