INVERCARGILL D.L.F. LITERARY AND DEBATING CLUB.

The usual weekly meeting of the Invercargi)l D.L F. Literary and Debating Club was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Tay street, on Wednesday, 6th February. There were present of the committee. — The vice-president (Hazel, in the chair), ZealU, MiLlioent, Iris, Rcwa, Pakeha, Deerfoot, David, and Midget, and a good attendance of members. Maidie M. and Gorse were also present. The President, on behalf of the club, extended a hearty we'eome home to Maidi3 M. The club heartily" reciprocate Mr and Mrs Blondel's grecimgs. Corona ; " How I Spent My Holidays," by Sciibb'ev; "Two of the Latest," by Cornish; "An Episode in t'l'e Country," by "Go Hon ; " The Eruption of Krakatoa,""by A Silent Member; "New Story of the Prince," by Mountain Rambler,

" Sunshine," by Rogue II ; "An Important Character in N.Z. History," by A. Ned ; " Methods of Identifying Criminals," by Mr X. ; "Tale of a Dog," by Texas Jack. All tbe papers were listened to intently, and greatly appreciated. The President read a ciicular from Awkward Ned in leference to tho Cot Fund. After disposing of other business concerning the club, the members adjourned till next meeting night, February 12 A cordial invitation is extended to all D.L.F. to attend our meetings. MIDGIE, Hon.
