CHURCH AND STATE IN FRANCE.
CONDITIONS FOR LEASING THE CHURCHES. PARIS, February 5. M. Briand (Minister of Public Worship), in a circular to the French prefects concerning the conditions for leasing the churches to the priests, declares that a recognition of the hierarchy may be iacluded in such agreements. LONDON, February 5. Reuter's correspondent at Rome reports that Vatican circles are rather satisfied with the circular.
