CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER.
THE MOTOR FIRE ENGINE ACCIDENT "WELLINGTON. January 17. The Oroyrn has decided to proceed against W. S. O'Brien, deputy-superinten-dent of the Wellington Fire Brigade, and P. O. Spry, driver of tho brigade's motor engine, on a charge of manslaughter in connection with th« death of Mrs Ken «ington, who was killed on December 17 by being run over by the motor at the corner of Bowon street and Lanibton quay.
There is every probability of an egglaying competition being held at Palmcrston North in the near future. Mr Pickering (president of the North Island Poultry Association) has offered three acres of land free of charge for the purposes of the Competition.
An intere£tir>£ feature of the training work at CaulfieM (Victoria) during recent mornings has been the appearance of a horsewoman, who rido= side saddle, and in imitation of the Tod Sloan style. The young lady is well known in India as a. capable rider.
