Tune 20.—The weather during the past three days has been very good, to-day being exceptionally mild, with warm winds. Three weeks ago we entered upon a fortnight of almost j unbroken fine weather. It waa such a welcome relief, and gave a fillip- to things generally. The roads dried up nicely, too, and farm work could be pushed ahead. Most days of last week were unpleasant, and the roads were again, reduced to a •wretched condition Threshing.—During the fine weather Mr A. Leslie was able to put the thregTrmg ! through at a fair rate, but was blocked all j last week. He is now at Mr Bussell's, and isnearing tha end of his season's work. The yield is not- heavy. Flaprmill.—The local flaxmi'll is still working steadily,, and is putting out a large quantity of fibre. A short time ago one of the men rnjuned his back severely when, liftingthe bundles of green" flax sent in. She is mow with relatives- in Otago Central, whence I hope she will return in improved health to hex family.
