ASHBURTON GRAIJST MARKET.
The offerings of wheat at Ashburton are now falling off, the bulk of the grain having been; threshed and delivered. Millers are still 1 active buyers at top-quoted rates for all prime samples. Fowl wheat is in good demand, but very scarce; in fact, there will be very little-, if any, fowl wheat for export from the country this season. Piices have, if anything, firmed! since our last repor*, quotations being: Tuscan, 3s Id to 3s l£d; pearl, 3sr OJd to 3a Id; Humers, 3s ; fowl wheat (very scarce), 2s Sid to 2s 9d. Oats. — As is the case with wheat, offerings of oa+s are now becoming smaller every day. Large quantities have been delivered, and ara still being delivered, for shipment in completion of sales. The demand continues keener than ever, and prices should further increase very shortly. So far, quotations have not altered, being: Canadians^ Is lOd; duns and Gartons, Is BJd to Is 9d; Danish, la 7d. Oatsheaf Chaff.— This is very scarce', and difficult to obtain at 555, on trucks.
