EGG-LAYING COMPETITIONS.
CHRISTCEURCH. April 9. f The statement for the forty-ninth week [ of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's ! egg-laying competition at Lincoln Co'le^e shows that 227 eggs wore laid during the week, an aveiage of six- per pen, making a- total to date of 29,732. an average of 783.7 per pen. The host tota's for the .week were:— H. Hawke, silver Wyandottes 24-; H. Leg-er, white Wyandoti.es, 16; G. It. Hutehinson,. silver Wyancfofcces, 15 ; C. Petersen. black Orpingtons. 14. • The highest totals to dale are:— H. Hawke, silver Wyandottes. 1230: J. H. < Shaw, brown Leghorn?, 1002 ; J. Mann white Wyandottes. 974: R. E. M. Evans, silver Wyandottes, 970 : A. Tyree. black I Orpingtons, 923.
