COUNTRY SALES.
The National^Mortgage and Agency Company of New Z'ealsund ' (Limited) report having held their usual fortnightly "stock sale at Clinton on Thursday last, the 2nd inst. The yarding was a moderate one and the attendance below the average, nevertheless every lot found purchasers under the hammer at fair values. Their Eales were as follows : — For Mr H. Tolmie (Waipahi), 270 cull hoggets, 13s sd ; Mr H. Steel (Wairuna), 200 crossbred hoggets, 18s 6d; Mr George Roy (Wairuma), 144 cull hoggets, 13s; Mr P. Rabbit (Wairuna), 100 prime heavy wethers, 275 ; Mr John Blaikie (Waiwera), 122 hoggets, 18s; Mr H. Steel, three heifers, £3 2s; 11 yearling ditto, 325; Mr D. M'Kay (Clinton), harness mare, £21; Messrs W. and J. Sutherland and A. M'Gaw, 42 sacks potatoes at 16s to 18s per sack.
