Two pounds of flour, Jib of butter, Jib of sugar, one nutmeg (grated), a little powdered cloves and mace, £oz of caraway seeds, quarter of a pint of fresh yeast, and sufficient cream (cr milk) to make a paste. Mix the dry ingitdieuts and rub the butter in lightly with the tips of the fingers ; add the yeast, and pour in sufficient cream to make a Etifi dough. Cover the mixing-bowl with a clean cloth uud set it by the side of the file untiLthe dough is well risen Form tb.3 dough into little cakes, and bake them on a floured tin in a moderate oven.
