George Symc, sawmillcr, was fined £2 at Stratford for polluting a trout streanii by allowing sawdust to Cow into it. The recent difficulties in connection with the oil well at Moturoa have all been overcome. The water is now shut off, and it is expected that pumping will be begun in a few days. The prospects are encouraging.
