N.Z. FOX TERRIER CLUB.

Dear Terror, — In your issue of September 27 you publish a "report of a committee meeting- of the New Zealand Fox Terrier Olub, in which it is stated that, amongst other business, "a dispute arose over the awarding of the president's medal for the best adult smooth-coated bitch at Wellington show. The winner in Open Bitches (Hazelmere Snowball) being a puppy, it was decided to award it to the second prize winner, Mr T. Tyree's Hazelmere Vixen ; but as Mr Tyree only became a member on the morning of the show, there seemed a difference, of opinion as to whether he should have it awarded to him." As one of the earliest members of, the N.Z.F.T. Club, I should like to ask if it is usual to hold meetings of ihe club's executive in the morning. Also, what members of the executive were present when Mr Tyree was elected? lam aware, from the notice

in your last issue that the annual meeting of the club was held on ths evening of the first- day of the Wellington show, and if Mr Tyree was elected a.t that meeting, ho oertainly is not eligible to receive the medal, -<s he was not a member when the doge were judged. The rules of the club say that all intending members shall be balloted for, one black ball in five to es> elude ; now, though Mr Tyree may have handed his entry money and subscription, feo to the secretary of the club on th« mornmg of the Wellington show, that cannot constitute' him a member until h© has been duly elected by the executive. If otherwise, ihe sooner the whole executive work and responsibility of the ehib is handed over to the secretary to "mak' a kirk or a mill o' " the belter.— l am, etc.,. Dancing Buck, Dunedin, September 28.
