[Conducted by Magisteb, to whom all communications must be addressed.]
FOR BOYS AND GIRLS.
In the Triad the other day the following appeared: — " ' Magister's ' column for children in the Otago Daily Times shoald be exceedingly stimulating and helpful to the 'young idea It is edited with excellent judgment, but I ivas rather amused last week be. see therein. Edward Lear's masterpiece. 'The Owl and the Pussy Cat,' with 'E. Lear ' at the foot, acknowledged as from some Australian school paper. Apparently ' Magister ' does not know Edward Lear and his books of aonsense.— Hiatos valde deflendus."
No doubt the deficiency in my range of reading is to be deplored, but I'll try to make it good some day— if I have time. In the meantime, perhaps some youthful leaders acquainted with Edward Lsar's nonsense pieces will send them to me. Goad " nonsense verse will Jvlways be welcome.
