OTAGO AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL SOCIETY
THE ANNUAL HORSE PARADE.
The entries for the horse parade vvhioh is to ho held at) Tahuna Park on Thursday npxi. constitute a record for tho society— totalling 66 in all. In tho agod stallion class tlv competitions promise to be exceptionally k^en, there being 31 entries, tha property of the leading breeders from Canterbury to Southland, and the total value of which would represent a very large figure indeed. In the thro-e-year-old class there are 16 entries of splendid homes, and the keenest competition nany be expected. More than usual interest should this year be taken in tire parade from the fact that so many recently-imported animals will be shown. Taken as a, whole, the exhibits this -,ear will be the best collection of horses that has yet b&en seen in the show ring un^ler the auspices of the Otago A. and P. Society. In the light horse section there is certain to be been interest taken, especially in the trotting and thoroughbred classes, as the entries are excellent.
The parade and judging will commence at 11 a.m. sharp at Tahuna Park, and i iraiijjements have been ma>d« for the convenience of exhibitors and the public. Mrs M. Thomson has the s6le right for supplying luncheon on the ground, for which the moderate charge of Is 6d will bo made. Electric trams will run to gates cf show ground at frequent intervals. The cr.mrnitteo feels confident that given fine weather, the horse parade of 1905 will certainly be the most successful yet held under the auspices of the society.
