A CRITICAL SITUATION.
PARIS, June 24.
M. Jules Delafosse, acting as spokesman for the Right in the Chamber of Deputies, -speaking on foreign affairs, advocated an alliance with England, which would ensure absolute and unlimited victory against Germany, since Britain would destroy the German fleet and blockade her coasts until Germany surrendered in order to save her foreign trade. The ELaisei" was trying to destroy the entente to pi event France joining Britain in the conflict he foresees between Germany and Britain.

M. Jaures, at a Socialist meeting at Lyons, declared that the Moroccan question had been settled without injury to French national pride, but France should beware of Great Britain, who seemed to have an interest in tolerating the suggestion that the Anglo-French agreement aims at Germany.
The Temps' B-erlin correspondent reports that opinion on the whole is pacific. Confidence is felt in France's desire to maintain peace, but distrust is expressed towards* Britain.

German newspapers seek to shirk the responsibility of their attitude of misgivings regarding the maintenance of peace to articles in the British press.
