PENINSULA.
The regular meeting of the Tomahawk Road Board, held on Saturday, was attended by Messrs Mathieson (chairman). Stewart, Hen-, derson, Robertson, and Miller. — The board comglied with the request in a circular received from the Bank of New Zealand, by" passing a resolution to borrow by way of overdraft up to the legal limit. — Mr M. Begg'a plan of proposed roads was approved, and the " seal of the board affixed. — The board decidedthat the npme of the road now known aa Brookes's road phould be altered to- Tainui road. — Mr Begg forwarded a plan of proposed grades on Talruna road, and asked that some repairs be effected, stating that a Brick Company was about to be established. He suggested that the culvert should bs repaired with 2ft cement pipes; the Brick Company to form and clay the road at the end of "ahuna road, the board to do the metalling. The board agreed to the request on condition that the company clay the road one foot in thickness, the work to be done to the satisfaction of the board. — The Chairman reported that the metal required could not be obtained from Messrs SrnaiJ, and ,it was decided to obtain the quantity required fron* Begg's quarry.— lt was -resolved that 30 yards of metal be quarried and broken in the quarry at the valley, and left to Mr Miller.— Th« motion to make a rate of fa in the pound also a special rate of id. was confirmed. Mr John Bishop was appointed collector —Mr Stewart reported that a portion of the road in the valley near Mr Ings's was in a. dangerous state. Mr Stewart was authorised to have the work attended to, the cost not to exceed £s.— Accounts were passed for payment for £19 7s.
