REPORTS FROM WORKING DREDGES.
The secretary of the Paterson's Freehold Company reports a return of 220z 15dwt from the No. 1 dredge for last week, and 16oz sdwt from the No. 2 dredge. The secretary of tlie Riley's Beach Company reports a return of 70oz for three And a-h2lf days' di-edging. The secretary of the Hessey'a Company reports a return of 260z lldwt for 132 hours' dredging. The secretary of the Electric Company rerc.Tts a return of 630z Bdwfc from, the No. 1 dredge fox 134 hours' work. The dredgemaster of the No. 2 dredge washed up for 21oz 15dwt for one and a-half day's work, dredging being resumed on Thursday. There- will be no wash-up on the Junction Eleotric No. 1 dredge this week. The return from the No. 2 dredge is 14oz, dredging only being resumed at 4 p.m. on Thursday. The master of the No. 3 dredge washed up for 12oz for the week. The master of the New Roxburgh Jubilee dredge reports a return of 117oz 2dwt for 284 hours, three days of this time being occupied in cleaning out the paddock of drift. The Mauuherikia dredgemaster reports washing up for a return of 340z 9dwt for 140 hours' work. The drift was very bad during the last three days. The return from the Rise and Slime No. 2 dredge for last week was 250z for 138 hours' work. The No. 1 dredge was undergoing repairs, consequently there was no wash-up. The New Halfway House dred°eruaster reports washing up for a return of Goz for working once across the cut. Pro-pects were fair. The return from the Golden Gate dredge for last week was 19oz 12dwt. The river was falling. The secretary** of the New Fourteen-mile Beach Company reports a return of 3Soz for 76 hours' work. The dredgemaster wired that he expected to resume dredging on Monday morning. The secretary of the New Perseverance Company reports tbje following returns for last week:— No. 1 diedge, 22az 12dwt 6?r for 89 hours' work; No. 2 dredge, 240z Bdwt 12rr for the week. Previous to the recent rise in the river the No. 2 dredge had some difficulty in bottoming. The manager of the Island Block sluicing claim reports a wash-up for a return of 940z 7dwt as the result of four weeks' sluicing.
