REPORTS FROM WORKINGDREDGES.

The Clyde dredgemaster reports having washed up for a return of 12oz for last weekr He also wired as follows: — "Sidling reef poorj cannot bottom; deep ground, 50ft. The secretary of the Paterson's Freehold Company reports a return of 17oz lOdwt from the No. 2 dredge as the result of 135 hours' work. The dredge had a good rue for tha week, and there was an improvement in the ground.

The manager of the Undaunted Sluicing Company reports a wash-up for 240z <Jdwt as the result of one week's work. He also wiretj that he was turning off all Uie water, as tha frosts were too severe to work.

The Inchdale di-edgemaster reports washing up for a return, of 12oz Bdwt for 13D hours 1 wcrk.

The secretary of the Hessey's Company reports a return of 250z 7dwt for 130 tours' work.

Tho secretary of the Lady Annie Comipany reports a return of 30oz lldwt for 68 hours* diedging. The secretary of the Ngapara No. S Company reports that the dredge has been closed down, for tho season, which extends up till aboutt

September next, owing io the frosts having Bef in. The return for last week was 12oz 2dwb. Tho secretary of the Electric Company reports the following returns for last week: — ■jSTo. 1 cixedge, 210oz 9dwt for 134 hours' dredging; No. 2 dredge, 1240z 15dwt for five days' vork. The master of the latter dredge wired that he was putting in tha new bottom tumbler. The Charlton Creek dredgemaster reports •washing- up for a Teturn of lOoz for the week. lie also wired that heayv frost was interfering ydih dredging. The Dunstan Lead dredgernaster wires having washed up for a return of 33gz for the ,vreek; also that it was freezing hard. The Lady Roxburgh dredgemaster reports vashing up for a return of 20oz 17dwt. He also wired that (prospects were improving gradually, and he had worked into solid ground. The secretary of the New Fourteen-mile Beach Gold Dredging Company reports a refurn of 740z 9dwt for 147 hours' dredging. Everything is working well. The secretary of the Alpine Consols Company reports a letura of 290z lOdwt for 180 hours' dredging. The dredgeraaster wired that prospects were better. i A return of 270z 12dwt is reported from the Golden Gate dredge for last week. The river is falling. The' return from the Nugent Wood dredge last week was lOoz 4dwt of gold for 130 hours' ■work. The dredgemaster reports that not only were the prospects poor, but the clay was still n«avy and burdensome. The secretary of the Enterprise Company Reports a return of 2oz 13dwt from the No. 1 flredge, and 330z 14dwt 21gr from the No. 2 'dredge for 128 hours' work. The No. 1 dredge was working in old ground.

The Manuherikia dredgernaster reports washing up for a return of 1290z as the result of 128. hours' work. He also wired that there '■was a hard frost. The secretary of the Punt Company reports r return of 20oz lOdwt for 113 hours' work. The dredgemaster wired that the frost was .<rery ' severe.
