WELLINGTON, June 11. The New Zealand Association team foi New South Wales played and were deEcated! by a Wellington team by 5 goals to 3. The
home team played with Bplendid combination, amongst the forwards Reddy and Sharkey being very conspicuous. Waddell, a member of last year's New South Wales team, played a great game at centre half. The losers' forwards played welJ considering their want of practice together, and they should pTOve very troublesome when they get into one another's play. Mawson, XJssher, and Foreshow were the best. The half-back line was weak, and probably lost the game to their- side. Forrest and Jones vrere not up to form. Harrison played splendidly at back. Wellington had most of tfche play in the firrafc spell and gave the New Zealand reps, a warm time. At half time score was 3 goals to 2 in favour of New Zealand. Foreshaw scored two, and TJesher one. W. Mouafc and Clark scored tor Wellington. The second spell was more even, though the winners were frequently dangerous near goal. The New Zealand team spoiled good chances by off-side play, two goals scored being disallowed. Hathaway scored in this spell, while Forrest kicked the ball through his own goal. The general opinion is that the New Zealand team is strong 1 in forwards and bacWs, but weak in halves. Harrison and Usher are yery promising. The team left by the Monojvai in the evening for Sydney.
