LAYING TOTALIZATOR ODDS.
AUCKLAND, June 5. ' At th« Police Court Jamea Beckett, bookmaker, was fined £60 and ecsfcs on six informations for laying totatisator odds, and M. H. Quick was fined £20 and costs on the first of 11 charges of sending telegrams to various bookmakers making bets at tote odds. The remaining informations were dismissed. I — A Meibcrarne cable states that the secre- . tary of the Williwnstown Club has received the nomination of the Korth Island-owned Maniapoto. — A Christchurch message states that the Phimpton trots have been postponed till Saturday, owing to the state of ihe weather.
