REPORTS FROM WORKING DREDGES.

The secretary of the Lady Annie Company reports a. return of 470z sdwt for 138 hours' work. The secretary of the Hessey's Company reports a return of 230z sdwt for 134 hours' work. The master of the Electric No. 1 dredge reports washing-up -tor a return of 3790z 15dwt for^ fivo and a-half days' work, and the master of "the No. 2 dredge fo? a return of 91oz for the week. The latter dredgemaste-r stated that prospects were very good sines. Wednesday. The return this week from the Nugent Wood dredgo iox 107 hours' dredging was 9oz 18dwt of gold. The dredgemaster reports that on Tuesday night the flange of the bottom tumbler broke in three pieces, and that while awaiting a new flange he would effect a number of minor repairs. There will be no wash-up on the Junction Electric No. 1 dredge this week. The return from the No. 2 dredge is Sloz Idwt, and that from the No. 3, 18oz 13dwt for threo and a-half days' work. The master of the Golden Gate dredge reports a return-of 20oz 18dwt for last week; river falling. The-'secretary of the Olrig Company reports a- return of lOoz 12dwt for 110 hours' work. The return for the previous week was 13oz ■t4dwt for 125 hours' work. The Gabriel No. 1 dredgemaster reports washing up for a return of 9oz for last week. Ha also stated t-hat the ground was still deep, and the reef eoft in places. The gold was a very much better sample last week. The secretary of the No Town Creek Company reports a return of 70oz for 124 hours' work. The No. 2 dredge has reached bottom, but no opinion regarding results can be formed until the end of this week. The secretary of Nelson Creek Gold Dredging Company reports that the returns for the past week was 14oz for 116 hours. The faliiugr-off in tha return is attributable to the difficulties experienced at present in keeping the road for the coal supply open. This necessitates dredging through a considerable amount of tailings which would not otherwise have been touched.
