A T otes from Reef ton. (From Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, May 6.

The Alpine Company's mine manager reports: — The rise was extended 15ft for the week, making the total distance 2017 it. There is 4ft 6in of stone in the rise. It is nice-look-ing stone. There is no gold at present, but I would expect to get gold in it any shift. The- Ulster Company's mine manager reports : Discontinued sinking the winze at the end of last week, and have driven for the hanging wall 26ft, and crossed, 1 a sandstone formation; then started driving into the footwall, and have driven 10ft. The formation heare looks well for a reef, being of good slate country.
