THE WINGATUI TRESPASS CASES.
In respect fo the previously-heard charge against Thomas Torpy of trespassing on the Wingatui Racecourse, his Worship, in giving his decision. said h« was of opinion that the warning given was sufficient, and that the trespass was continuous. Defendant would be fined £5 and costs. In respect to tlie question of costs held over in these cases, a profesional fee of one guinea would be allowed in each case, and the other costs in respect to all the charges woiild be divided among the defendants. — Mr W. C. MacGTegor, who appeared for Torpy, asked that the fine might be made £5 Is, in order to give him the right of a geneial appeal. — His Worship eaid he had refused leave to appeal in a foirner ease, and he saw no reason to alter his decision in respect to this case.
