D.L.F. LITERARY AND DEBATING CLUB.

Dear Dot, — The regular weekly meeting o* the D.L.F. Literary and Debating Club w?a held in the D.L.F. room of the Witness office on Tuesday evening, April 25. There were present of the committee the President (Harry), in the chair; B. Watch, Go Hon, T. D. A., Lenore, C. C. M., Hubert, and 25 members. The president (Willow Brook) of the Invercargill Club was present at the meeting, and was greeted with a hearty round of applause. Being open meeting, the following contributed papers : Black Watch, "Sons ol the Soil," "Traits of R. L. Stevenson" ; Roby, "Flowers" ; and A. Ned, "A Faint Heart Never Won a Fair Lady." The president then, retired, and Go Hon took the chair for the remainder of the evening. For impromptu speaking, "How I Spent my Easter Holidays " was the subject. The speakers were Willow Brook, Fred, Scobie, C. C. M., Vidocq, Lester, Hubert, Go Hon, A. Ned, and T. D. A. Our country comrades are reminded that the annual D.L.F. social will be held in winter show week. Further particulars will be supplied later on. In the meantime, T. D. A., C. C. M., L. Dundas, Harry, Go Hon, Fred, and Scobie have been selected as the Social Committee. — Yours truly, THE DUKE'S AMUSER, Secretary.
