THE SCOTTISH FREE CHURCHES.
THE REPORT OF THE COMMISSION.
LONDON, April 20.
The report of Lord Elgin's Committee on the Scotch Church dispute has been issued. It declares that parliamentary interference is necessary, since the (Free Church is unable to adequately execute the trusts. It recommends that the whole of the funds and property in dispute be vested in a commission with administrative and ex?eutive powers. Where the Free Church is unable to execute the trusts the funds and property are to be transferred to the United Church, with a liberal provision equivalent to Iho Free Church. Apparently the report satisfies the United Church.
