THE CHRISTCHURCH GRAIN MARKET
CHRISTCHURCH, April 20.
The wheat market continues quiet, and there are very few buyers. Farmers who were in town on Wednesday, failing to dispose of their grain, a few lines have changed hands during the past day or two. Good milling wheat has been bought as low as 2s 7d at country stations, and from 2s lOd to 2s lOJd delivered at the
mills. Advices received in this city from London this morning state that the English wheat market is lifeless, buyers holding off till after the holidays.
Oats continue easier in view of the fact that the Southland crop, which has been harvested in excellent condition, will shortly bs placed on the market. Gartens are quoted a.t Is 5d to Is 6d, and Danish at Is 3d to Is 4d at country stations.
