NAPIER, April 24,

The Waipukurau Jockey Club's annuaJ races meeting was held to-day. The weather was beautifully fine, the attendance the largest on recoid, and the- totalisator investments amounted to £6840, which is a-lso a record for the club. The following are the results: —

Maiden Hack Race, of oOsovs. One mile. — Minister, 8.2, 1; Teauke, 8.13, 2; Papatawa, 7.11, 3. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 60 l-sseo. Dividends, £4 10s and 14s.

Raster Handicap, of GOsovs. Once round. — Ballyneety, 7.9, 1; Tattle, 6.10, 2; Abydos, 8.2, 3. A grand race. Ballyn&ety won by a short nose, with Abydos the same distance away, third. Time, 2inin 6 4-ssec. Dividends, £2 17s and £2 11s.

Hack Handicap, of 60sovs. One mile and aquarter. — Spark, 8.0, 1 ; Watermilk, 7.0, 2 ; Benair, 8.9, 3. Won by about two lengths. Time, 2min 25sec. Dividend, £4 4s.

Waipukurau Handicap, of 150sovs. One mile and a-quarter. — Rose Madder, 7.11, 1 ; Fleka. 7.7, 2; Tyrone, 6.10, 3. Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 19see. Dividends, £3 3s and £1.
