The Ea.vter meeting of the Riverton Racing Club, which opened to-day, was affected by bad weather, heavy rain falling most of^ the day. The attendance was good, and the fields were vtry satisfactory. The totalisator handled £2725, as against £2866 for the first day of last year's Easter meeting. The following are 'ift results: — Hack Hurdles, of 25sovs. One mile and a-half.— Noxious Weed, 9.0 (G. Byrne), 1; Miss May, 11.5 (Carr), 2; Kamua, 9.3 (C. Church), 3. Also started: Force 10.3. Won easily. Time, 3min 8 2-ssec. Dividend, £2 6s. Maiden Plate, of 20sovs. One mile. — Noxious Weed, 8.12 (G. Byrne), 1; Regulator, 8.12, 2; Shield, 8.12, 3. Also started: First Appearance 8.13, Clorine 8.13, Maystono 8.13, Gladys 8.13, Po&t Card 8.12, Lady Seaward 8.11. Won after a good finish by over a length. Time, lmin 53 4-ssec, Dividends, £'2 ■is and £3.
MAIDEN STEEPLECHASE, Of 3Osovs. About two miles.
