Notes from Cromwell.

(Fkom Oub Own Correspondent.) CROMWELL, March 9. The weather i& fine, and the river is falling stcadils'. The Hartley and Riley dredge started dredging to-day, and should do well when she gets opened out, as there is a nice stretch of river in front of her. The Electric No. 1 dredge is on a patch of rough, stony ground, and will probably be a few weeks getting through it. The Junction Company has purchased the Cromwell No. 2 dredge, also a piece of dredgeable giound inside of where they are working with No. 2 now, which will likely pay well. It is also going to work the point at the junction of the two rivers, and this present purchase will be very suitable, havmg a good elevrttoi.
