DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.
Messrs Wright, Stephen son, and Co. report as follows : — There was a very mixed nmster of horses, both draught and light, forward lor this week's sale, the entry totalling 35, which with about half a dozen exceptions^were all aged. The attendance was fairly good, and notwithstanding the poor selection a reasonable amount of business was done. Firstclass draught mares and geldings and springvan and spring-dray horses are very scarce, as also are young -upstanding light harness horses. Clients having these classes for sale can depend on getting full values at our weekly auctions. Our principal sales for the week include the following : —Brown gelding, six years old, at £45; bay geldirifc, eight years old, at £35; brown gelding, four years old, (broken to double harness only), nt £27; bay [ buggy mare, eight years old, at £20 ; roan male, light, at £19; bay buggy gelding, four ! years old, at £15 10s; and several other aged and stale horses at from £7 to £10. We quote: Superior young draught geldirgs, at from £50 to £55; extra good (prize horses), at from" £56 to £65; superior younf draught mares, at from £60 to £75; medium draught mares and geldings, at from £35 to £48; aged do, at from £22 to £34; upstanding carriage horses, at jfraan £30 to £40 ; well-matched carriage pairs, at from £80 to £100 ; strong » spring-van Horses, at from JE32 to £3S; milkcarfc and butchers' order-cart horses, at— from £22 to £30; light hacks, at from £12 to £20; ' extra gocd hacks, at from £21 to £30; weedy and aged hacks and harness horses, at from £5 to £10.
