The Martawatu Racing Club terminated itssitmrper meeting under tbe* most , siiccessful conditions to-day, the attendance b-i^g estimated at 7000. In the" Hurdle Race the'' rider of Pushful (D. Watt) was thrown at a. hurdle, and sustained concussion of 'che' brain. The totalisator investments for the day were £17,734, an increase of £2830 on the second day of Aa,et year. The total sum for the meeting (£39,441) is a New -, Zealand record for two days. - The sum of £21,607, put through on the first day, is a North Island record, beating Auckland's previous record of £21,515.
