DUNEDIN WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Messrs A. Moritzson and Co., auctioneers, wool, stock, station, grain, produce, and commission agents, report (wholesale) for the week as under. Alt quotations hzq subject to market fluctuations. We would ask farmers when sending samples always to put a price on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers:—

Wheat — Unchanged. Millers are not operating, and prices are weak. We quote: Prime velvet and Tuscan, 3s 8d to 3s 9d; red chaff, 3s 7d to 3s 8d; fowl wheat) is weak a t3s, 3s Id. prices are weak. We quote: Prime velvet and Tuscan, 3s 3d to 3s 9d; red chaff, 3s 7d to 3s 8d ; fowl wheat is weak at 3s, 3s Id.

Oats. — Strong inquiry for A grade for export; inferior, neglected; prime unaltered; A grade, Is 7d ; B grade, Is- o^d to lsi 6d ; inferior, Is to Is 3d. Ryecorn, 3s to 3s 2dBarley. — Prime malting, fair demand at 3a* to 3s 3d; milling, 2s 3d; feed, 2s.

Chaff. — Prime oaten sheaf ohaff , JJ3 to £3 7s 6<3 ; medium, to good, £2 10s to £3 15s; prime quality, £2 7a 6cf to £2 12s 63 ; medium and inferior unsaleable. Straw, 25s to 30s; prime clover hay, £2 10s, £2 l|s. Ryesrass. — Fair demand. W/ have sold at ?, Farmers' dressed 1 , 2s to 2s 6d; machined, 3s 6cJ to 4.3.

Cocksfoot. — Owing to small prop and high prices in London, thi3 seed is considerably firinftr. We have sold farmers' lines from. 3l<s to 4Jd; machined seed, 5Jd to 6d.

Linseed. — From £8 to £10 per ton, as per quality.

Chewings's Fesciie. — No demand at present owing to large stocks of last season's. Wa anticipate low prices for new 3Sed.

Potatoes. — Market bare of old sorts. Prime Derwents, £4; new kidneys, up to 2Jd; round sorts, up to 14s per cwt.

Wool. — The .season has now started, and there is every prospect of prices being much higher than heretofore. All consignments, whether large or small, have our. carefult attention.

Rabbitskins. — Suckers and runners, 4|d to 6£d; outgoing 12|d to 13|d; late autumn 3, 12Jd to ISJd; autiunn blacks, Hid to Is; ■winters, 15d to 17d; winter blacks, up to 22d.

Sheepskins. — We hold sales every Tuesday. The demand is very keen for all classes, and extreme prices are being paid. Crossbred and halfbred sound pelts, 6a 6d to 9a; crcssbreds extra good, up to 10a; medium, 5s to Is 9d to 2s; small, Is to Is 6d; lambs, 4a to ss ; small, 2s 6d to 3s. Top prices guaranteed. Hides. — We quote: Prime o*; 5Jd to 6d; medium, 4£d to 5Jd; light, 4£d to 4|<3; heavy cow, up to 4£d ; light, iid to 4{Jd. Horsehair, 13Jd to 15d; bale lots, lod. Our next sale takes place on the Btb_

Country sales conducted on moat leasonablo terms. We can supply rabbit and sheep netting, oil cake ; farmers' Fairbanks 4001b scales, £5 10s; Crowd sheep dip — caska 3s per gallon, drums 3s 6d; Bergers'red and black shfiepbranding oil, 4s per gallon; Gibson's cattle brand, 93 for small, and 15s for large tins; Newton's patent wool presses, £13 ea«h; clover, rape, and turnip seeds, all freshly landed. Prices on application. Stack covers, 18 x 16, 40s each.

Grass Seed Cleaning. — Our machinery i 3 up to date. We have jusfc added a clover polisher, and as we have a machine of the latest type for each kind oi seed, vre give from 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, better cleaning results than a machine which cleans aH seeds. We also store seed free of charge until cleaned, and keep same insured. Storing Grain. — We are prepared to store, receive, and deliver, insure, with three months' free storage, at 3d per sack. Our stores ara vermin proof and'eonnected with aiding.

FBUIT AND PRODTCB REPORT

Butter.— Prime salt, 6d, 8d; off, 6d to 7d; separator in lib pats, Bd, 9d ; storekeepers' lots, 4|d, 5Jd (in full supply). We should advise storekeepers to salt down. Eggs. — Fresh, 9£d. Cheese —Factory, 4fd to s|d ; loaf, s£d to 5Jd; dairy, 4|d to sd.

Honey. — Demand is^not very strong. Prices are ruling from 3Jd to 4d for good qua'ity. Section honey in demand, 8a per dozen pound sections.

Beeswax is 4d, wanted. Onione. — Prime, £t) 10a, just landed. Walnuts, 4Jd to sjd, wanted. Bacon. — Rolls, Bd. Hams, 8d to Sid. Pigs. — For sizes up to 1601b, first-class dairyfed quality, from 4d.

Butter boxes, with parchment linings, wa can supply at 18s per dozen.

Vickery's egg preservative, 20s per case of S gallons. Poultry. — Local pi-ices are higher than export. Hens, 3s to 3s Gd; ducks, 4g 6d, ss; roosters, 3s 6d, 4s 6d; geese, ss, 5s 6d; turkey, hena 5d per lb, cocks 7d per lb (live weight). Fruit. — We receive consignments by every steamer from Australia, the Islands, and our own colony, and hold sales daily on arrival of consignments. Sacks. — We can qtiote liin corn sacks, 6s 3d ; second-hand grain sacks 4s 9d ; good flour sacks, 4s 6d doz There is a considerable saving in taking these to the farmer.
