OAMARU, December 17. The wheat market is inactive, and prices are unchanged. Oats are inquired fcr a little mere for shipment north, but at prices that show no variation on late rates, prime* Gartons being worth about Is 4Jd to Is sid, and heavy Danish up to Is Ud. Potatoes (Derwents) may be quoted at up to 60s, at sidings, but the market is so unstable that buyers are shy. Locally-grown kidneys are expected to be forward in sufficient quantities at the end of next week. Present values are 9s to 10s per cwt. Eggs, in view of the Christmas season, are inclined to improve. To-day they are worth 7d. Dairy butter, 5d to 6d.
