Tn the cricket match New South Wales v. South 'Australia the visitors made 351 runs for eight wickets in the first innings. Waddy played a dashing, brilliant innings for 85 not out: Duff made -61, - S. Gregory 4- 6,Hopk'ns 32, Kelly 34, and Howell 59 (not out).

New South Wales in their first innings made 465— Waddy not out- 129, HoAvell 128. South Australia in their first innings scored 177. Darling made 67, Newland 20, and Reedman 39.

Mr Frank Layer has been appointed manager of the Australian Cricket Eleven.

Queensland, playing against Victoria, made 260 in their first innings. The home team in their first innings have lost four wickets for 4-81. Armstrong made 200, Rainsford (not oui) 103, and Layer 98. Marshall vas not out with 21f Fitzgerald made 20. Victoria thus won by an innings and 180 runs.
