Consequently, a good quantity has changed hands. In some cases a sight concession in price has been given by sellers, but on the whole the market is fairly firm, the reduction on one quality being compensated for by a higker prica for another. Transactions include 527 sacks Hunters at 3s 3d, 440 sacks Hunters and 540 Tuscan at 3s 4d. 150 sacks pearl at 3s 3d, 700 packs pearl, 400 Hunters, and 700 Tuscan £+ 3s 4d, 3s 3£d, and 3s 5d respectively at a 2s<3 station, 2200 sacks velvet and 500 Tuscan at 3a 4d and 3s 44d respectively at a 2Jd station, 170U bushels Tuscan at 3s sd, and a number of smaller lines at similar price 3, all at collate?.

Irayea-s are not inclined to meet except in r-niali lines to meet immediate requirements. The nibbling by millers from various sources would indicate that their stocks are not heavy ; at the same tims, there are few buyers of heavy linoa. Stocks, however, are working down, and there is yet from four to five months to go before any new wheat will be Jit to mill, as the season is a. very late one 'this year. e Winter-sown crops are now coming' along well, but spring-sown are generally poor. Indications point to a. short supply of Tuscan for next year. Oat crops have improved'during the last week ot two, owing to much more favourable weather conditions.
