TO THE EDITOR.
Sib,— May I, through your valuable columns, make a special appeal on behalf of the poor and needy amongst whom I work ia this city? Christmas will, soon be here, and through the philanthropy of sympathising 1 friends .on previous occasions we have been enabled to make, that season a joyous one in many homes. The children, also, wero remembered, and one gentleman sent us £10 to provide a treat for them, and 200 were taken to the circus. W e trust that they will not be forgotten this year. We have still the desire to help, and there is stiil the necessity, for there will be many homes where poverty will prevent the inmates from having a good time ; therefore some out of their bounty will surely remember their less fortunate brethren, for " Inasmuoh as ye have done it unto one of the least of the=«2. My brethren, ye have done it unto Me." — Yours in a good 1 cause, Sisteb Mabie. 6 Fernhill street, Dunedin.
