CLYDE, August 3. Owhif to sharp frosts having set in the taow is still lying, on fihe low country. The Kevel of the riyer remains unaffected. The Monte Christo dredge tapped a piece of aoft rock bottom on which splendid gold was found. It is thought the run of gold hugs •the east bank of the river, near the site ot present operations. * August 6. ' Twelve degrees of frost were registered at Clyde last evening. It has baen freezing m the shadte all day, although the sun has shone fciilliantly. At 4*30 it was freezing very keenly.
