Bidding was keen throughnut, and we had a vjary satisfactory sale, prices being quite up to those, ruling a fortnight ago, ar.d in some cases e-ven. higher. Light hides were in very keen demand, and .sold relatively better than those of heavier weights. To show tne demand for light hides, we may ment'o-i that we sold 331b ox hides, a-t 4d and 85*.b at 4£d. In light cows we sold 36's at 4id and 4P's at 4|d. Our tojp price for ox hides was CJd, at which figure we sold one weighing 761b, and this, after deducting tlje usual tare of 41 b per hide, runs out at a, money value of 39s 9d. We also sold several weighing fron? 611b to 661b at 6d and 6jiL In cow hides our top price was 4S<3, which we obtained for lots averaging from 431b' ' to. 661b, the latter represeuting a money value of 25s 2d. Many other lets brought 4Jd to 4?d." We can confidently lecominend consignments being sent in at present, as returns are sure to give satisfaction. The bulk of their catalogue consisted of light to medium-weight ox and cowhides, foi which there was a splendid demand, cow hides weighing 361b to 4516, in good condition, readily bunging 4jjd to 4£d per lb. Prime% heavy-weight ox hides also came in for a good share of attention, and realised very satisfactory prices. Messrs Waters, Ritchie, and Co. report having held their usual fortnightly sale of hides at their stores, Crawford street, on Thursday afternoon. There was a good attendance of buyers and competition was brick. Their catalogue of 170 hides was made up mostly of country consignments. The following were the ruling values:— Prime heavy ox, from 5Jd to 7d; medium, 4ld to s|d ; light, 4d to 4fd; prime cows, 4£d to s£d; medium. 4|d to 4^d; light, 3gd to 4Jd per lb; yearling, from 2s 6d l;o 5s 6d each ; calfskins, from Is to 2s 9d each.

The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association of New Zealand (Limited) report as follows: — We held our usual fortnightly sale on Thursday, 24th inst., when there was the usual attendance of buyers.
