THE AUCKLAND MEETING,

AUCKLAND, Mairch 26.

The Auckland Amateur Athletic Caib's sports to-day were but poorly patronised despite the fret that the weather was fine ard the entries were capital. There were no notable performances, though F. It. Mariott. now the best of our local sprinters, ran creditably. He landed the 100 yds Handicap from the 3 y^irds mark in lOscc after fighting with a strong •wind in tho last 10 yards, and won the 440 yds Handicap in 53sec, contending against the wind for the best part of 103 yards.
