On Sunday, on the occasion of her approacluiig marriage, Miss Wederell, superintendent of the- Sunday school connected with St. Andrew's Church, Tin-urn, was presented by the vicar and choir with a handsome chawing room clock as a toke-n of regard. On Wednesday, 22nd inst., ths Rev. Mr Catherwood, who received a unanimous call to the new parish of th© Waimatuku district, Southland, was ordained and inducted into the newly- formed chaige of Waima-tuku-Waianiwa.
On Monday evening on the occasion of his departure from Oamaru for Wsnganui Mr James Bennett was enteriain'Hl \ r a number of the cricketing and footballing fraternity, and presented with a goldmounted fcilk watchguard.

Tho Rev. J. L. A. Kayll, formerly vicar of Winton, and new Anglican Church ministr-r at Gore, has just been presented with £60 by his pari=hioner3, to assist him in defraying the cost of an operation he is shortly to undergo for appendicitis.
Mr G. Wood, a popular resident of Wendon, has sold his farm, and is leaving the district to settle at Fcilding (N.1.). He was an enthusiastic Volunteer, and he and his wife took a leading part in all local social entertainments, whilst a splendid collection of stags' heads at his house prove him to be a good sportsman. Much regret is felt at his departure, and he and his family will be greatly miesed by a wide circle of friends.
Mr Duncan MacFarlane, stipendiary magistrate and warden for the Westland district for many years, has been retired by the department. Mr MacFarlane has not been in very good health for some time, and it is understood that ho has been retired on 'his own application..
On the occasion of their departure from Queenstown, after a re;idoncs of 18 years there, Captain and Mrs Wing and family, who have always been closely identified with the Church of England there, were entertained by the vicar and parishioners at tha Town Hall and presented with an illuminated addres'.
On Wednesday evening, it the Riverton vicarage, the Rev. G. W. Davidson was presented by the week-day morning class of children with a silver teapot and jellydish on hie departure from Riverton.
Mr H. W. Parsons, late manager of tho Pioneer dredge, and Mrs Parsons, on the occasion of their departure from Waikaka for New South Wales, were entertained on Friday at a valedictory social in the Public Hal' Ly some 50 or 60 friends representative of all parts of the district. Miss Minnie Cain has carried the mails between Nascby ai>d Kyeburn Diggings for several years — indeed the mail contract has been in h^r fairly for 22 yeai*. She haK however, been obliged through ill-health to give it up, and on Friday, 17th ult.jvas entertained to a social at. the Kyeburn Diggings and presented with a j»ur?e of soverings a=. a mark of esteem by her many friends. Dancing was kept up well into tho small hours. Oil the occasion of tke departure of Mr J. Pi.. Michio, of the Gore staff of the New Zeal-ami Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, to Invercarg-ill, to take the position of bookkeeper there, ho was presented by the manager, on behalf of th© staff and num?ro'ii 'clients, with r handsome travel-ling-rug. He was al«o presented with a silver-mounted pocket-book- and walkingstick by br friend*. On Monday, at Mc^rs Schlaadt Bros, engineering works, Mr Enright, -who is leaving the finr's employ to take a position on a dradge, was presented with a gokljnounted greenstone pendant a-, -a token of esteem. Mr Tncrocci made tho presentation on behalf of the. employees. Mr Enright suitably responded. The resignation cf Lieutenant Matthew Muir from the. Clutha Pvifte Volunteers is gazetted. Tho Rev.
